This tree grows to 30m and has long been valued for its beautiful timber, used in furniture making. The fern like leaves with silvery undersides are partly shed just before the branches are almost hidden by the masses of long, golden-yellow blooms which appear in late spring. Grow in a well-drained, slightly dry, neutral to acidic mix in full sun. Tolerant of dry conditions, it does best with a warm dry summer.need some protection on frosty nights (less than 24°F, -3°C)
